Our focus lies in obtaining materials from regenerative, renewable, organic, and recycled sources, promoting a sense of circularity within our material selection. We are dedicated to supporting biodiversity through our choices and aim to be as consistent and holistic as possible in our values and practices, acknowledging that we’re on a journey. We understand that each fiber has its own set of benefits and drawbacks concerning its environmental impact, and there is no universal solution. However, we evaluate the ecological effects of all fabrics and materials we use, and we prioritize the sustainability of their production while considering their entire lifecycle. We exclusively collaborate with reputable suppliers who have established themselves as trusted sources in the industry, known for their reliability, transparency, and integrity.

VEGAN CUPRO

Vcupro is made from regenerated cellulose fibers that are derived from cotton linter, which is the short fiber left on cotton seeds after the ginning process. This process involves dissolving the cotton linter in a non-toxic, organic solvent and then spinning the solution into fibers, which is then woven into fabric. Vegan cupro has a soft, luxurious feel that is similar to silk and drapes beautifully.

It is also hypoallergenic, breathable, and moisture-wicking, making it a popular choice for clothing, especially in warmer weather. It is considered to be a more sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to silk, as it is made from a by-product of the cotton industry and uses a closed-loop production process that recycles the solvent.

Cupro has ISO 14001, Oekotex Standard 100 and GRS Certifications. It is also “Eco Mark product” that fibers using 100% unused materials. Cupro has GRS Certification. Vegan Cupro needs less detergent and water for cleaning. It provides low detergent residue comparing to cotton and many other fibers. It is gentle on the environment, biodegradable, and decomposes in soil, losing half of its original weight in approximately two months in soil.

LINEN

Linenis a highly valued natural fabric made from flax fibers. Its smooth and slightly coarse texture gives it a distinct look and feel that is both durable and breathable. Linen’s ability to absorb moisture and dry quickly makes it ideal for use in clothing, especially during hot weather.

It is a sustainable and eco-friendly material that can be easily dyed in a range of colors. The fabric’s strength and resilience make it a popular choice for garments that will be worn frequently. Overall, linen is a comfortable, durable, and sustainable fabric that is well-suited for a variety of garment applications.

Our linen is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified meaning it ensures that textile products are free from harmful chemicals and substances in the dyeing process.

ECOVERO VISCOSE

Viscose ECOVERO is a type of viscose rayon fiber that is produced from sustainably sourced wood pulp. It is is manufactured using a closed-loop production process, which means that the chemicals used in the process are recycled and reused. The wood pulp is dissolved in a solvent to create a viscous liquid, which is then extruded through fine holes to create long, continuous fibers. The fibers are then washed, bleached, and dried before being spun into yarns or woven into fabrics.

It has a soft, light and silky feel which can be used in a wide range of textile applications. It is certified by the EU Ecolabel and the Forest Stewardship Council, ensuring responsible forestry practices and sustainable production methods. The manufacturing of ECOVERO™ fibers generates up to 50% lower emissions and water impact compared to generic Viscose.

COTTON

Cotton is a natural fiber that comes from the seeds of the cotton plant. It isa popular material for clothing because it is soft, breathable, and easy to care for. When a fabric is labeled as 100% cotton, it means that it contains no synthetic fibers or blends with other materials. This makes it a pure and natural material with unique properties that distinguish it from other fabrics.

We typically use 100% cotton for linings (voile de cotton), as well as on our bags using top quality cotton canvas.
